BERKHAMSTED Sunday Football League side AFC Boars bagged their second trophy of the year as they saw off The Herald 4-0 in the Steve Norwood Challenge Cup final.

Sonny French bagged a brace for the Boars, and Curtis Donaldson and Ricky Parkins were also on target.

In the BSFL League Subsidiary Cup second round, meanwhile, The Midland romped to a 6-0 victory in a fiery encounter with The Steamcoach.

Both teams were reduced to 10 men, but The Midland ran out easy winners courtesy of goals from Rocco Cordara (2), Dave Wilson (2), Barry Sansom and Arran Luke. Goalkeeper Tony Hill also saved a penalty for The Midland.

Hemel Corinthians are also through to the next round of the cup thanks to a 5-3 win at The Queens Head. Michael Dance (2), Craig Sharples, Chris Armorgie and Jack Wilson did the damage.

Warners End also progressed, beating Booxmoor Rangers 3-1 with efforts from Glen Childs, Ned Ozkasim and Lewis Coates.

In league action, Premier Division side Park Rangers thrashed Hemel Town Celtic 7-0 with strikes from Lee Franklin (2), Greg Goodchild, Romain Chapman, Shawn Hunter and Craig Lockley.

At the same time, Luke Sharpley bagged a brace for Comets Sports Club in their 5-2 win at Flaunden. Alex McCarthy, Joel Williams and Woods Mullan also scored.

Elsewhere, Blackbirds Rangers were celebrating after adding the Division Two title to their Intermediate Cup triumph.

They needed a win over Drays athletic to confirm their status as champions, and Jack Copson, Paul Lelliot and Ben Fisk handed them a 3-1 victory.

In this week’s only other Division Two fixture, Tring Royals were on top form as they hit Comets Reserves for six.

Tom North (2), Martyn Travers, Martin Gregory, Tommy Taylor and Jack Eaglesham earned a 6-3 win.
