The Hemel Hempstead Town Youth U14 Whites dug deep in extra-time to beat Everett Rovers 3-2 and book their place in the League Cup final.
Hemel went 1-0 up courtesy of a superb goal from Zion Yoseph, but Everett hit back to level the scores just before half-time.
The second half was an even affair, but it was Everett who struck next to take a 2-1 lead and put themselves within touching distance of the final.
To Hemel’s credit, they did not let their heads drop and battled back to level the scores through Yoseph’s second goal of the game to send the match into extra-time.
From then on, there was only one team who was going to win and Hemel pressed forward in search of the third goal which duly arrived courtesy of Aaron Tilney, who smashed the ball into the back of the net to send his team into the final.
Jake Dowton was named man of the match for the Whites for his all-action display.
