It's a Blackout as Aces win the league

Hemel Aces Black being crowned league champions was one of a number of junior football highlights this weekend.

Abbots Youth U9's took a vital away win against another under strength Hemel Athletic side. Abbots provided early pressure with a few goal line incidents but it was midway through the first half when the breakthrough came, a lovely diagonal cross in to the box was glanced on by the AY striker to beat the Hemel keeper at close range. It was a bitter blow for the home side who had played well despite the disadvantage of fielding one less player. The second half saw AY start strongly again but HA quickly found their rhythm, the midfield linking well and tracking back when required. Man of the match performances from defender James Wood and midfielder Louis McKenzie helped Hemel to a strong second half and looked the most likely to score, however the chances could not be converted and Abbots Youth left the pitch as winners of this contest

tornado 0 panthers 9 another good win for the panthers with a goal from joe chott, 2 goals each for jack guiton, calum clarke and 4 goals for callum mansell. congratulations to hemel aces for winning the league from everyone at hemel panthers.

HEMEL ACES BLACK were crowned CHAMPIONS of their Division with a fine 2-0 win over local rivals Comets. A goal in each half by CALLUM ELMER(penalty) and ROSS NETHERCOTT secured the title with two games left. A superb season that has seen Aces lose just once and concede only 6 goals in their 14 league games so far. A wonderful achievement for the boys and for their manager DARREN ELMER. WELL DONE BOYS YOU HAVE BEEN FANTASTIC ALL SEASON AND EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HAVE PLAYED THEIR PART. CHAMPIONS CHAMPIONS CHAMPIONS.

An excellent weekend of football and two deserved wins for Comets, excellent football was played by all in attack, and solid defending when needed by Alex Harris and Michael Cregan. Rob Morrison was outstanding and netted with a great left foot strike, Oran Swales continued to add to his goal tally with two well taken goals. Sunday saw Comets take on Chorleywood and a superb footballing display saw Comets take control of the game and never looked troubled. Two more goals from Swales, and a good goal from cameron Brooks put the game beyond Chorleywood. Colm Parrott made sure at the back that they never got anywhere near our goal. Although Josh archer had to make a double save when Chorlewood were awarded a penalty. Man of the Match - Oran Swales (Berko)Colm Parrott (Chorleywood)

The Raiders secured an early lead and scored in the 11th and 13th minutes but the Comets fought back with Kieran Domeney scoring in the 15th minute with help from Luke Armstrong. In the 23rd minute Raiders scored again and thier confidence grew. They finished with a further two goals in the 38th and 40th minutes with thanks to a solid midfield and striking team. Result:

Tring Tornadoes 1 Comets 1

Details:

A difficult game to write an impartial report about. With St Albans and Tring to play Comets need one win to be league champions.Comets enjoyed most of the posssession and created some snatched chances and numerous efforts when the final ball just wasnt quite good enough. After a goaless first half the nerves were jangling Comets not being able to convert their possession and chances into goals Tring took the lead via a well worked corner. Now Comets responded they took the game by the scruff of the neck started playing their pass and move football and got their deserved leveller via Mitchel Cole. With time ebbing away Comets pressed but Trings resolute defending stood firm. The game ended in a draw.A interesing game played in good spirits and a credit to both sides.Well done lads alot to still play for .

Hemel Town White, West Herts Youth League Under 13s Division 3, Have won all their matches (still one to go) scored 117 goals conceded 11 all season

League:

Watford Friendly League U18

Result:

Echoes Orange 2 Oakhill Tigers 4

Details:

After a promising start Echoes fell away to a 4-2 defeat. Oakhill opened up a two goal lead in the first half. Echoes started to play better in the second half and Kyle Batchelor pulled one back before an Ollie Gurney penalty levelled things up. Unfortunately Echoes could not build on the momentum and conceded two poor defensive goals meaning that their chance of honours has slipped away for another season.
