Kings Langley 3 Sun Postal Sports 3
Ten-man Sun Postal Sports denied Kings all three points with a late equaliser at Gaywood Park on Saturday.
Nathan Pooley, Gary Connolly and Sam Warrell had all found the net as Kings took a 3-2 lead, but Ade Kelani pounced late on to rescue a point for Sports.
It was the visitors who had made the brighter start of the two teams, but the first real chance did not arrive until the 37th minute when a Warrell free-kick was tipped round the post.
Kings broke the deadlock shortly before half-time, with Pooley firing home a free-kick from the right.
Ricki Figuera equalised for Sports and, despite a spirited response from Kings, the visitors took the lead as Bertie Squires-Adams broke well on the left and struck a powerful shot into the top corner of the net.
Sun Postal were reduced to 10 men shortly afterwards when Edwin Twesigomwe was sent off for a second yellow card, and Kings gratefully accepted the lifeline, with Jack Johnson’s cross being diverted in by Gary Connolly for an equaliser.
When Sam Warrell hit a trademark low shot home through a crowded box with just six minutes left to play it seemed like game over, but Sports’ 10-men had other ideas and Kelani duplicated his side’s second goal to give them a share of the spoils.
