Hoddesdon Town 6 Kings Langley 0
A DEPLETED Kings Langley side suffered a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of fellow mid-table outfit Hoddesdon Town.
Kings put out the same starting line-up that had performed so well at Wodson Park on Tuesday, but struggled from the off against a ruthless Hoddesdon side.
The hosts took the lead from a corner after four minutes as Ben Andreos found the net, and the lead was doubled on the half hour mark courtesy of Jamie Brandon.
Already facing an uphill task in the second half, Kings’ mission was made even harder after 53 minutes as Gary Simmonds put Hoddesden 3-0 up.
Four minutes later, Brandon added his second goal of the game as the home side began to run riot, and Kings’ cause was hampered even further as injuries saw them reduced to 10 men.
Simmonds scored his second goal of the game to put the hosts five goals up with 15 minutes to play, and the Hoddesdon man completed his hat-trick in added time to cap off a miserable afternoon for Kings.
There can not be too many excuses, though, as Hoddesdon produced a fine footballing performance on the day and too many Kings players failed to match the standards they had set previously.
The result leaves Kings sitting in 13th position in the MSSML Division One league table.
