Langley keep up the chase for promotion with a big win

On the day that Sun Postal Sports cemented the SSML Division One title, Kings Langley continued their battle for the second promotion spot with a 4-0 win at Codicote.

Kings started brightly with a Danny Hutchins 25-yarder hitting the bar, but Codicote came back and Steve Bourke saved well to deny Josh Bronti.

Kings produced the defining moment just before half-time as the persistence and power of Mitchell Weiss allowed him to rob the centre-back and slot home past Billy Barnes.

The second half was only a minute old when Connor Toomey crossed for Weiss to turn and beat the keeper again.

Alex Campana then latched onto a Paul Insley header to make it 3-0 from 15 yards.

Weiss’ perfect through-ball gave the industrious Insley a fitting reward as he wrapped up the win.
