Kings Langley Ladies put in a much improved display despite going down 3-1 to Sandy Ladies.

Kings fell behind early on but battled hard, with Mary Hogan hitting the post, and both Amy Earthrowl and Kim Nield having chances either side of Sandy doubling their lead.

Hogan saw another effort go just wide of the mark, while Kings keeper April Langton was kept busy at the other end.

The second half was a scrappy affair, but Kings came close when Hogan’s powerful downward header produced an excellent save.

Sandy went further ahead late on but Kings hit a consolation when Hogan pounced to stab home.

“This was a better performance’ said Kings’ assistant manager Chris Walker. “There are still areas to work on but it’s encouraging.”

Langley travel to Sherradswood Ladies on Sunday in their last game before the Christmas break.
