Leverstock Green Ladies manager Scott Isaacs has praised his team following their Herts Womens Cup win and is urging them to finish the season strongly.
The ladies lifted the trophy after a thrilling 3-2 win over Royston Town Ladies at the County Ground.
“I was incredibly proud,” said Isaacs. “The ladies have been developing as a side for a number of years.
“At the start off the season we set ourselves an ambitious target of finishing mid-table and identified the County Cup as silverware we could realistically challenge for, following the withdrawal of Arsenal Ladies from this year’s competition.
“To reach our second cup final in two consecutive years was a fantastic achievement but winning the County Cup was testament to all the hard work of the squad and was massively deserved.”
Levy are currently playing in the Eastern Region Premier League following promotion last season, and have enjoyed a fine campaign so far.
“We currently sit second in the league despite the fact it’s our first outing at this level and have a handful of games in hand on the leaders,” said Isaacs.
“Consequently we could yet find ourselves winning the Eastern Region Premier at our first attempt and achieving the cup and league double.
“However a top four finish would certainly cap a sensational season for us.
“Regardless of our successes this year, we remain determined to attract further new players to our side to help us become the best local ladies side within the region. “
