Luggershall Reserves 0 Northchurch 3
NORTHCHURCH secured promotion to Division Three of the Aylesbury League with a well-deserved victory over Lugershall Reserves.
The away side took the lead after 20 minutes as a speculative cross-come-shot from winger David Vila found the Lugershall keeper off his line as it nestled in the top corner of the net.
Northchurch preserved their lead to go in at half-time 1-0 up and, within 15 minutes of the restart, the game was effectively over as the visitors trebled their lead.
Good work from Vila and Matt Tucker set up striker Mark Hobley, and he buried a shot past the Lugershall keeper to put Northchurch 2-0 ahead.
And 10 minutes later, the away side made it 3-0 as a free-kick was expertly delivered by Lee Hollick to the far post, where Simon Howlett rose highest to direct his header into the far corner.
From then on, there was only going to be one winner, and Northchurch held on comfortably for the three points.
The title deciding game is next week as Northchurch host Tring Bell Titans.
A draw or a win would be good enough for Northchurch to take the title.
