A youngster from Hemel Hempstead was chosen to be part of a guard of honour when Boreham Wood took on a young Arsenal side at the weekend.

Joshua Mantle – who plays each week at the Arsenal Soccer Schools training centre in Berkhamsted – was selected after taking part in a free workshop in Boreham Wood.

The hosts eventually ran out 3-0 winners over their famous hosts – although the Arsenal side did have an average age of just 18.

Graeme Montgomery opened the scoring with a sweetly-struck effort, before further goals were added by Mario Noto and Calum Willock.
