Dacorum’s big three in the SSML will be targeting maximum points this weekend in a trio of Premier Division home fixtures.

Berkhamsted entertain London Lions, Leverstock Green host London Tigers and Tring Athletic welcome Biggleswade United in what looks to be a decent Saturday afternoon’s football – weather permitting.

The sides have had a stop-start beginning to 2014 as a result of the recent wet weather, but all three games were still scheduled to go ahead at the time of writing.

Only a win will be good enough for title-chasing Berko who know that they cannot afford to slip up against the bottom of the table Lions.

The Comrades currently sit third in the division, one point behind second-placed Hanwell Town and five adrift of table topping Ampthill Town.

Mick Vipond’s side made an excellent end to 2013, with four consecutive victories, but they are yet to play a game so far this year.

Tring, meanwhile, will be looking to build on an excellent 2-0 win at St Margaretsbury in their last outing – a game which saw winger Chris Vardy continue his impressive form with a brace of well-taken goals.

Athletic currently occupy 12th place in the table, and will be keen to bag another three points to open up a four-point lead over visitors Biggleswade who sit 13th.

Elsewhere, Leverstock Green know that a win over the Tigers could move them to within two points of their opponents.

Dene Gardner’s side have moved up the table into 19th after a dreadful start to the campaign but will need to put in an improved display after losing 4-1 at Harefield United on Saturday.

See next week’s Gazette for match reports from all three games.
