Manager Simon Johnson said: “I think I can say for all the parents and management that we are very proud of the girls winning the league, it is a fantastic achievement.

“The whole squad has contributed to a season of great goals, good passing, wonderful tackling and a fair few awesome saves. They have played in the right spirit, respecting the opposition and had a lot of fun whilst doing it”.

Berkhamsted Raiders chairman Keith Pollard added: “Huge congratulations to the U12 girls and their supporters.

“To come top of the league is a wonderful achievement but to do it playing fairly and respectfully makes us prouder still. We wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season.”
