Ten-man Tring Athletic came away empty-handed from their midweek trip to St Margaretsbury.

What already looked a tricky fixture for Tring was made even more difficult in the 18th minute, when captain Graham Hall received a straight red card for a reflex reaction after handling on the line.

The resulting penalty was dispatched by Ricky Light, and any hope of a second half come back was dashed after a minute of the restart when a speculative cross from Davey Edmee went in off the far post.

Tring’s Stewart King was tripped as he went through on goal late on, but the St Margaretsbury defender only received a yellow card and the resulting free-kick was saved.
