Hemel Hempstead’s Amy Carr has been named in the All-Mid American Conference team of the season.

Representatives from schools around the conference voted for who they believed deserved to make the team, and Carr was selected alongside Northern Illinois University Huskies team-mates Lauren Noonan and Lauren Eberts.

It is the first time since 2007 that three Huskies players have received the distinction in the same season.

“I’m so happy for Amy, Lauren and Eberts to receive Academic All-MAC honours,” said Huskies head coach John Ross. “It is nice when they get acknowledged for their commitment on and off the field.”

“Doing well in school is a direct correlation to how they perform on the field. It is a pleasure to have these student athletes as part of our soccer program at Northern Illinois University.”

Carr was a mainstay in the Huskies starting line-up during the season, making 16 starts from 18 appearances.

The exercise science major kept six clean sheets and conceded just 16 goals, becoming the first keeper to earn All-MAC honours.
