Herts Girls FC have been selected by banking giants Santander to be part of their Grassroots Sports scheme.
The initiative allows staff from the bank to nominate local schools or groups who could benefit from new sports kits, and the Hemel Hempstead-based all-girls’ club has been chosen to receive the goodies.
Club chairman Richard Rogers said: “For Herts Girls to be able to participate in such a great scheme will be of great benefit to the club and female football.
“We were contacted direct from the branch’s business manager, Darryl Fenn, with the great news. Our Current U13 squad will be using this year’s donated kit, and all the training equipment will be of great use to the whole club.
“We started the year with two teams and have doubled in size in the last 12 months; we now offer football training and matches for all girls aged 6-13 years old.”
