WATFORD left it late to snatch a 2-2 draw against Birmingham City, as Martin Taylor scored an injury-time equaliser against his former employers.
Taylor’s goal marked a frenetic end to the game, as the Blues looked set to return to the midlands with all three points, following Chris Wood’s 89th-minute goal.
The dramatic conclusion was in stark contrast to the match which was an otherwise tepid affair for the Vicarage Road faithful, who have witnessed a torrid start to the new season.
Watford were keen to add to their meagre of tally of two points prior to kick-off, but it was Adam Rooney who dampened the mood as his strike gave the visitors a 1-0 lead at the break.
After 80 minutes, however, Martin Sordell’s left-footed drive from 20 yards drew Watford level.
The encounter looked set to finish 1-1, however in the 89th minute the hosts squandered possession and Jean Beausejour ran through to set-up Wood whose finish was clinical.
But to the delight of the home support, the Hornets hit back and Taylor’s close-range header ensured the hosts earned a point with seconds left to play.
