MATCH REPORT
Under 14
Abbots Youth 3 - 4 Tornado JSC
Report
Tornado had their 3rd game in 6 days with each of the last remaining games getting harder.
After 8 minutes Tornado were 3 - 0 down, a sight rarely seen for this team.
With the game halted for 35 minutes for an injury the first half had 2 minutes remaining. Having given the opportunity to have the game abandoned despite losing 3 - 0 at the time the Tornado boys wanted to continue.
What a turn around, within 1 minute DARREN McGRATH pulled one back from the edge of the area.
This is where a 'game of two halves' came to mind.
Tornado started the 2nd half determined, skilful and committed as they ran Abbots ragged.
DANNY SOUTH got the 2nd when he chased down a back pass and scored.
The frontline of Tornado had Abbots stretched each time they attacked.
With 10 minutes to go was there going to be enough time to gain victory, nothing less would put Tornado out of the title race. Of course there was because up steps LUKE TEAKLE to score 2 infive minutes to earn Tornado's their 3 win in the week.
Every team member played their part in a team that had the desire to win, to maintain their challenge and especially to their team mate Louis Claridge who was taken away by ambulance, thankfully he was released later in the day after routine tests.
Tornado now havea weeks break before their League cup final appearance against Harpenden Colts - GOOD LUCK LADS & WELL DONE
