Holmer Green 3 Tring Athletic 3
Tring Athletic shared the points with Holmer Green after an entertaining score draw at Airedale Park.
Tring fought back from behind on three separate occasions, with the final goal coming three minutes into added time at the end of the game.
The hosts had the better of the first 10 minutes with a number of shots that never really troubled Tring keeper Mike Underwood, but it was Athletic who had the clearest sight at goal when Chris Vardy broke through only to shoot into the grateful hands of home keeper Ben Boulter.
Green were still seeing plenty of the ball and eventually made the breakthrough in the 33rd when striker Dean Allen tapped home after Tring failed to deal with a free-kick.
With half-time approaching Green should have increased their lead as Victor Asombang dribbled his way into the area, but Underwood managed to beat away his goal-bound shot.
Athletic needed to get back into the game quickly and, within five minutes of the re-start, they bagged the equaliser.
Vardy latched onto a long ball and crossed to the unmarked Ryan Sturges who fired home to make it 1-1.
Clearly buoyed by the goal, Athletic pressed forward – but it was the hosts who regained their lead from a quick break from a corner as Spencer Eales made no mistake from the edge of the area.
The game was turning into a real end to end affair, and within two minutes Athletic had equalised for the second time when a Graham Hall free-kick into the area was headed into his own goal by Nick Robinson under pressure from Vinnie Iannone.
Hungry for the three points, the home side responded positively again and went back in front courtesy of a 72nd minute penalty.
Tring skipper Hall was caught pushing in the area, and Allen made no mistake from the spot.
There was still time for more drama, as Asombang was sent off for retaliating to a foul by Tring’s Matt Myatt, and Tring earned themselves a point in the dying seconds when Hall crossed for Tony Field to head into the roof of the net from close range.
