Gade Valley triathletes Andy Wells and Michael Birch competed in the London Brik Triathlon on Sunday.

Taking on the 1,500m swim, 20K bike ride and 10K run of the Olympic distance event, Wells dug deep to achieve a new PB by eight minutes and completed in an overall time of 2:24:24.

Birch competed in the Sprint distance event and completed the 750m swim, 10K bike ride and 5K run in a total time of 1:14:36.

Meanwhile, Harrier Luca Ramusino took on the Regents Park 10K race. Braving torrential rain, Ramusino finished in a respectable 1:03:30.

At the weekly 5K parkrun runs, Gade Valley Harriers had 21 entrants at five events.

The local Gadebridge parkrun had 13 Harriers flying the club colours, with Matt Watt coming back in secnd overall place in a new PB of 19:59.

Dean Porter was next back for GVH in 20:25, fourth overall, with Matt Ashby setting a new PB of 20:57. Andy Cook was next back in 22:45, followed by Robert Bowler 23:04, Andy Watt 23:58, Helen Heathcote 32:22 (PB), Lesley Jugoo 33:48, Alice Cook 33:55, Helen Cook 34:14 (PB), Sam Hawes 41:59, Charlotte Hawes 43:17 (PB), Bill Hawes 43:20 and Carol Skates 45:32 (PB).

Anthony James from GVH travelled to the Black Park parkrun in Slough with three team-mates where he put on a fine performance to come home in third overall place in 19:12. James was hotly pursued by Vince Ellerby in 19:56, Anthony Willcox 20:50 (PB) and newcomer to the Harriers , Nikki Richardson in 29:47 (PB).

Peter Tucker from travelled south this week to compete in the Brighton parkrun, where he set a new PB of 28:38.

At the Luton Wardown parkrun, James Thomson from GVH clocked up his 75th parkrun and came home in 21:58, for 12th overall place.

Watford’s Cassiobury Park had Gemma Bitaraf and Karis Thomas representing Gade Valley Harriers. Bitaraf had an amazing run, completing in 19:29, setting a new PB and was second lady home. Thomas also put in a great effort and came back in 27:34
