Dee-light for Tolman
Dominant Dee Tolman has notched up an unprecedented 12th Ladies’ Club Championship title following an emphatic win at Redbourn Golf Club.
The six-handicapper first struck success 27 years ago, in 1985, and she added to a six-year unbeaten streak with a cumulative score of 163 in the 36-hole competition.
Ian McDowell, Redbourn Golf Club general manager, said: “Dee has shown incredible tenacity to come back time and time again to defend her title.
“The Club Championships are always hotly contested in each category and I congratulate each of the winners on their victories.”
In the Men’s Club Championship, meanwhile, only the top-30 from the first round qualified for the final 18 holes of the competition.

The overnight lead was shared between Craig Ingram and junior golfers Ben Dunlop and Alex Williams, and the juniors outshone their older counterparts as Ben – a promising 16-year-old – took the spoils in the closely fought battle.
In the Seniors’ Club Championship, Michael Collman scored 81 and emerged victorious, while Trish Keens topped the leaderboard in the Senior Ladies’ Championship with a gross score of 90.
