In the first event of the year for the Little Hay ladies and seniors, around 40 players teed off for a greensome pairs competition.

Despite a drizzly but warm morning, the competition was keenly contested, with ladies captain Jan Boyling and partner Vic Allen taking first prize with 41 points.

In second place with 38 points were last year’s seniors’ captain Lance Redler and partner Chris Woodcock with 38 points.

In third place was club president Jenny Williams and her partner Quinto Rafique with 36 points.

In the men’s January medal, meanwhile, Tony Alford took first place in Division One, while Gary Whelan won Division Two.
