Young Sapphire gymnast Gabby Jupp has seen her stock continue to rise after being selected to represent Great Britain at the Junior European Championships in Brussels later this month.

Gabby, 14, clinched her place by winning the fourth and final trial at Lilleshall National Sports Centre last week.

The selection process involved four competitive trials and, of the three that Gabby participated in, she took top spot in all of them.

She will be accompanied in Belgium by her coach Steven Price, who has been chosen as one of the team leaders for the four-day event.

British Gymnastics Olympic performance director Tim Jones said: “For the juniors this is an opportunity to see some of our best young talent compete against outstanding opposition.”

Gabby is no stranger to international competition, having finished second on the beam at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Turkey last year.

She also finished second place overall in her age category in the British Championships in 2011.
