The Gade Valley Harriers had a strong team turnout at the Cassiobury Park Chiltern League Cross Country match – taking top spot in the closely fought Division Two.

The team of 16 men and eight ladies braved the weather and mud to put in some impressive results.

The first GVH lady home was Gemma Bitaraf in an excellent time of 30 mins 5 secs, with team-mate Teresa Reason just four seconds behind.

Claire McDonnell was next home in 31.45, followed Vicky Crawley, Paula Cook, Susie Ivin and Karis Thomas.

The men’s team, meanwhile, were tackling the longer course and they were led home by Mark Crabtree in a time of 36.54.

The next Harrier to finish was Bill Hawes in 39.09, ahead of Ed Price, Jon Roberts, Dylan Wendleken, Johnny Broom, Vince Ellerby, Matt Loddy, Steve Newing, Dave Wise, Nick Crowther, Andy Norton, Simon Geary, Russell Bailey, Martin Storrie and newly appointed club chairman Andy Newing.
