Six of the best for brilliant Berkhamsted

It was a weekend to remember for Berkhamsted as they completed a clean sweep of six wins from as many games.

The ladies seconds led the way for Berko with a 14-0 thrashing of Stevenage, and each of the other sides continued the winning form.

With a shortage of defensive players, the ladies seconds opted for all out attack – and the result was devastating.

Poppy Lloyd opened the scoring, before Anna Macklin added a second. From then on, the floodgates opened.

Berko went into half-time with a 7-0 advantage, and added a further seven goals after the break to wrap up the win.

Lloyd, Macklin, Lucy Wicks and Paula Wilson all finished the game with hat-tricks and Kate Hedge (2) completed the scoring.

Elsewhere, the men’s second XI were also in the mood for goals as they thumped Vauxhall 9-0.

Each member of the Berko side did their bit, as the side dominated proceedings from start to finish.

Another side who hit top gear in front of goal were the Berko fourth side who crushed Stevenage 7-1.

Brian de Mattos opened the scoring, and Richard Peachey added a second shortly afterwards.

Stevenage pulled a goal back before half-time, but Berko upped their game after the interval and sealed the win with another goal apiece from de Mattos and Peachey, as well as a Tim Buckley hat-trick.

The third team, meanwhile, came from behind to secure a 5-3 victory over Broxbourne.

At 3-0 down, things looked bleak for Berko, but they turned the game on its head to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games.

Ben Moorhouse (2), Mark Robinson (2) and Jim Carlile did the damage for Berko.

Elsewhere, the Berkhamsted first XI battled well to edge past Vauxhall 1-0.

With a much changed side, Berkhamsted struggled to find their rhythm bur Giles Graham put them in front against the run of play.

Berko’s task was made harder when Tom Vila was shown a yellow card, but the team dug deep to hang on for the win.
