There will be plenty on offer to both experienced and novice climbers at the XC’s Climbing Open Weekend at the start of next month.

The event promises to be action-packed, showcasing Schmoolz – the latest innovative way to climb.

Schmoolz is designed to imitate the concept of ice-climbing, which involves climbing rock with ice axes and crampons.

XC has tailored-made indoor dry-tooling routes, and the centre will be holding competitions during the weekend to showcase the new Schmoolz tools.

What’s more, climbing is free for all rope-competent visitors, while there are half-price taster sessions for new climbers.

The event takes place on March 1 and 2, and full details can be found at www.thexc.co.uk or by calling 01442 507100
