A fistful of medals for the Sapphire girls in Stevenage

Six Sapphire teams were in action at the Hertfordshire Teams Competition in Stevenage on Sunday.

At level 2 – the highest level at which Sapphire were competing – the team of Stephanie Ponder, Megan Splain, Alyieanna Rahim and Kirsten Evans won the gold medal with a fine display of agility and skill.

Also claiming gold was the level 4 team of Ondine Achampong, Tilly Hedges, Jessie Boad and Elizabeth De Jongh.

The Lebedinskaya Cup – awarded for the highest overall score of the day at level 4 – went to Ondine who produced a brilliant total of 50.20, three points clear of her nearest rival Tilly.

Also performing at Level 4, the Sapphire 2 team of Molly Jeffries, Madeleine Macdonnell, Camille White and Isabelle Gibbons came fourth, missing the bronze medal by just 0.20 of a point. Sapphire’s third team at the same level – Rosie Fisher, Sasha Cherry, Hollie Ofori Sampong and Tara Sadleir – were sixth.

Meanwhile, two Sapphire teams came first and second at level 3. Nemiah Munir, Hallie Copperwheat, Millie Gall and Emma Hurley claimed gold, while Charlotte Mitchell, Lauren D’Costa, Ellie Boad and Pei Clayton took the silver.
