The TringRugby Returning Students squad won their first silverware of the year as they emerged victorious in the plate competition at the Windsor 10s tournament.

On a very cold but dry day, the Tring squad quickly saw off Maidenhead in the first round with a comprehensive 15-0 victory.

After an hour’s wait in the cold, a much tougher second game followed, and Tring went down 29-12 to a strong and fast moving Marlow side, leaving them to fight for the second prize – the plate.

The final game against hosts Windsor saw the opposition score in the first minute.

However, a resurgent Tring side managed to put on 33 points to 12 in the next 19 minutes, as excellent running, delightful offloads and some great individual tries helped them to the victory.
