TRING Hockey Club had a busy weekend, with eight teams in action.
The Ladies’ Firsts were unlucky as they went down 1-0 to an own goal against table-topping Royston, while the Seconds were beaten 4-1 by Hertford.
Hertford took the lead and, despite an equaliser from Emma Whitehead, proved too strong for Tring and sealed the win with two late strikes.
The Ladies’ Thirds, meanwhile, secured a 2-2 draw with West Herts thanks to goals from Jenny Stokes and Mary Humphris, and the Fourth Team bagged a comprehensive 7-0 win over Potters Bar.
Meanwhile, the Men’s Seconds secured a comfortable 4-2 win at Amersham and Chalfont. Two goals apiece from Matt Hyde and Simon Cobby did the damage for Tring, before Amersham bagged two consolation strikes.
Elsewhere, the Men’s Thirds secured a 2-2 draw with West Hampstead thanks to a Greg Walton double, while the Men’s Vets overcame St Albans 3-0 courtesy of efforts from Tom Elliott and Nick Zagni (2).
And the Men’s Supervets wrapped the weekend up for Tring as they shaded a five-goal thriller at Eastcote.
The hosts took the lead twice, but a brace from Hicks and another from Warr earned the 3-2 Tring win.
