Hemel Hempstead Camelot are gearing up for a huge weekend as they prepare to battle it out with Woodford in a contest to decide promotion to the London 1 North division for next season.

Camelot have worked hard this season in their quest for promotion – finishing second in RFU London 2 North West.

And the club is urging the Hemel community to get down to Chaulden Lane on Saturday to cheer them on and show their support. The game kicks-off at 3pm.

The Camelot second team, meanwhile, have already gained promotion by winning their league.

They are now looking to replicate the league and cup double which they achieved last year as they play in the Herts Merit Cup final at Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday.

Elsewhere, the Camelot third XI made it back-to-back promotions after finishing second in their division, while the fourths secured a top-half finish in their league.

They can add more silverware to the Camelot trophy cabinet when they take on Datchworth in their Herts Merit Cup final.

Camelot’s Ben Allen said: “The club is competing throughout Hertfordshire this weekend and looking to celebrate the end of their season with silverware.

“Camelot has a large youth section, which has successfully developed the majority of the young players through into senior rugby.

“This has made a vital contribution to the our progress as a club.”
