The Camelot Rugby juniors are eagerly awaiting the start of the new season – and are hungry to build on last season’s successes.
Camelot’s youth training starts on Sunday, September 2 and the club are on the hunt for new players to strengthen their squads in time for the start of the new season.
Players in school Years 1 to 10 are invited to get in touch with the club, with exciting developments taking place in the U7 to U9 game this season.
It is the biggest change the RFU have implemented in the youth game since its inception, and is aimed at giving younger players a staged introduction to the game, encouraging great involvement.
The U7s and U8s will play tag rugby, while tackling is introduced at U9 level – with a greater emphasis on team play.
And this promises to be another successful season for the junior sides, who won a hatful of titles between them during the last campaign.
The U7 teams won four cup championships out of the five they entered, while the U8s extended their incredible unbeaten run to two years. The U9s and 10s also both collected silverware.
