American football is on its way to Dacorum with the Watford Cheetahs ready to roar into Hemel Hempstead.
The Cheetahs are one of the UK’s longest-running teams and Hertfordshire’s only American football club.
Established in 1986, the team have gone from strength to strength after bringing in new coaching staff and a raft of new players in recent seasons.
Playing in the BAFANL National South Eastern alongside seven other teams, the Cheetahs finished sixth in the table two years ago and third last season, but they have the play-offs and promotion to the BAFA Premiership firmly in their sights for this year.
As well as their adult side, the Cheetahs boast an excellent youth and junior programme established for 14 to 19-year-olds looking to take part in American football, have fun and make new friends.
A large proportion of juniors eventually make the step up to the senior team after showing off their talents in the younger age group.
Starting from this season, the Cheetahs will be based at Hemel Stags’ Pennine Way ground where they will train and play matches.
The club is encouraging new players and supporters to get on board, and more information can be found at www.watfordcheetahs.co.uk
