Hemel Hempstead youngsters help Dunstable to tenpin bowling glory

There was a strong contingent of Hemel Hempstead youngsters in Dunstable Youth Bowling Club's record-breaking squad

A quartet of tenpin bowlers from Hemel Hempstead helped Dunstable Youth Bowling Club to a record trophy haul at the South Of England Junior Open.

Host club Dunstable won a total of 25 trophies, with Hemel representatives Lewis Carden bagging three, Toni Melton also taking three, Ki Leighfield notching two and Megan Carden bringing home one.

The club also used the tournament to raise some much-needed funds via tombolas and raffles, and they raised a total of £1,200 which will allow the youngsters to bowl in more tournaments around the country.
