Hemel Storm could not hold on to a half-time lead as they were beaten 82-65 by Manchester Magic on Saturday.
Things started well for Storm as they ran up an early 7-2 lead which they increased to 12-5 half way through the first quarter – with all five starters putting points on the board.
At the end of the first period, Hemel led 18-13 with Tom Adorian in magnificent form with seven points and five rebounds.
A three-pointer from Bode Adeluola edged Hemel out to a 25-18 lead three minutes into the second period but Manchester clawed the deficit back to 39-34 at half-time.
The hosts levelled things up within four minutes and a series of four consecutive missed shots by Storm enabled Magic to open a seven-point lead going into the final quarter.
Manchester started the final period in style and opened up a 14-point lead and, although Hemel pulled it back to seven with five minutes left, the hosts took control to ease to victory.
