AFTER a successful season, four sides from Tring Hockey Club have gained promotion.

The Men’s Second XI, Men’s Vets, and Ladies’ Third and Fourth XI will all be competing at a higher level next season.

The Ladies’ Fourth XI secured promotion this weekend with a 3-2 win at Saffron Walden.

Olivia Wright opened the scoring for Tring, but the hosts equalised shortly before half-time.

Not to be denied, Tring secured the win with a double from Charlotte Butler.

Elsewhere, the Men’s Second XI sealed promotion with one game left to play as goals from Ian Bateman, Matt Hyde and Russell Arthurs secured a comfortable 3-0 win over West Hampstead.

The Men’s Vets, meanwhile, already knew promotion had been secured as they ran out 3-0 winners over Old Cranleighans.

Steve Collins opened the scoring for Tring in the first half, before a Julian Bamford effort and a second from Collins sealed the win.

The Men’s Fourth XI completed a fine weekend as they thrashed Eastcote Eagles 5-1.
