KITCHENERS Bowls Club have claimed the Watford and District Evening League title.

The club saw off Croxley Green to take the prize, and Kitcheners trio Steve Delderfield, Roy Phipps and Michael Connell have the chance to add to the silverware after they progressed to the Two Wood Triples final.

Chris Ivin won Kitcheners’ Fred Winfield Trophy, while the club won fixtures against Tring and Redbourn but lost out to Luton.

Potten End’s Men, meanwhile, have been crowned Griffen Cup champions after a 23-shot win over Bushey.

Dave Burfot, Tony Howard, Roy Surrey, Bob Anderson, Phil Bunting, Dave Gomm, Andy Dukes, Graham Floyd and Tom Jordan kept their nerve for Potten End, to take the title in impressive style.

Elsewhere, Potten End’s Mixed Open Gala was won by the Kings Langley team of Rosemary Biggs, Teresa Huntley, John Coleman and Roger Biggs.

Kings also picked up a 66-56 victory over Oxhey, while Jackie Chambers and Frank Turtle won the Australian Pairs event.

In other action, Tring went down by two shots to Herts Club in the County Area decider, but bounced back with a convincing 85-51 win against Kings.

Tring also saw off Croxley Guild 54-45, but were beaten by St Albans.

Meanwhile, Berkhamsted’s Carole Dunn and Mary Clarke have made it through to the Watford and District Pairs semi-final after defeating a Bushey duo.

Berko, however, lost their midweek friendly fixture with Brampton.
