There was an exciting finale to the Berkhamsted Trophy on Saturday when three players shared the lead on two under par after 36 holes.
Luke Johnson, John Kemp and James Reeson were tied, before Johnson eventually emerged victorious with a birdie on the second hole of the playoff.
Johnson, who is a member of the England A Squad and drove the 359-yard par 4 14th hole, said: “The prestige of the Berkhamsted Trophy grows year on year so I’m looking forward to returning next year to defend my title.
“Congratulations to the green staff for keeping the course in such a wonderful condition in the light of the wet winter we have just suffered.”
The Berkhamsted Trophy, in association with Mercedes Benz Hemel Hempstead Used Cars, attracts 36 of the best amateur golfers in the country.
Previous winners include Sandy Lyle and Luke Donald.
