Hemel Ski Race Club member Robert Poth has finished the season in style with victory in the U16 Delancey British Slalom Ski Championships in Meribel, France.
The result tops off an excellent winter for 15-year-old Robert, who won the Czech Republic International Overall competition in January and finished in a creditable 14th place at the World Children’s Ski Racing Championships in Italy.
The end of the season also marks the end of Robert’s five years of international children’s ski racing, where he dominated his age group and saw his name engraved on every single Alpine Children’s Championship trophy.
Robert now progresses on his ski racing pathway to FIS Junior ski racing and has gone forward to the second stage of selection for the U18 Great Britain Alpine Ski Race Squad for 2013/14.
The starlet has also been invited by ski racing company Atomic to be one of their sponsored athletes for next season.
Robert has the opportunity to travel to the southern hemisphere during his summer holidays to continue his ski training programme and hopefully take part in some pre-European winter racing competitions.
To do that, however, he is looking for financial aid and is inviting potential sponsors to contact him through his websitewww.robertpoth.co.uk
