Rush Judo aces can’t be stopped as medals continue to come thick and fast

It was business as usual at the weekend for Rush Judo as they returned home with yet another medal haul.

Saturday saw seven of the club’s younger judoka compete at the Bishop’s Stortford Red & Yellow Belt Rumble, achieving fantastic results.

Alec Holian won a gold medal, while silvers went to Jemima Cadge, Alec Clarke, Ollie Cadge and Ethan Tegg, and bronzes were bagged by Jessica Rush and Tegwin Jenkins.

Sunday saw coaches Laurie Rush and Pete Brent back at Bishop’s Stortford for the BJA Team Championships, where five Rush teams battled it out against some of the best clubs in the country.

Minor boys - bronze: Lenny Tanncock, Jim Collins and Kieran Docherty; Minor girls - bronze: Jemima Cadge and Maggis Rumsby-Ferris; Pre cadet boys - bronze: Lewis Fryer, Gergo Berendi and Haydn Williams; Pre cadet girls - gold: Evie Halvey-Jacobs and Hannah Niven; Cadet boys - bronze: Charlie Bennett, Josh Herbert and Michael Fryer.

Coach Laurie Rush was overwhelmed with the results, saying: “Too many stand out performances to mention today from the team so I would just like to say a big thank you and well done.”
