Berkhamsted Golf Club member Alice Hewson is all set for a summer to remember after enjoying one of the best seasons of her career so far.

On the back of winning the Scottish U16 Championship with a 36-hole score of six-under par, and taking the course record at Berkhamsted in four-under par, teenage sensation Alice has been selected for a host of international competitions.

She has recently returned from the Junior Vagliano Trophy in Chantilly, France where the 15-year-old Berkhamsted School pupil was part of a Great Britain & Ireland team that took on Europe.

The two-day competition saw some nail-biting golf, with the highlight being Alice’s singles victory on the first day against Csilla Rosza Laijtia – the Hungarian number 1 junior golfer.

She also teamed up with Northern Ireland’s Olivia Mehaffey in the foursomes section of the competition.

Alice will be up against most of the same players at the European Young Masters in Hamburg and the U18 Junior Europeans Championships in Sweden.

She is also through to the second round of British Open qualifying in St. Andrews, as well as being part of England’s Home International team.

Alice will also be competing at the British Girls Championships and British Ladies Amateur Championship, so it is going to be a very busy few weeks for her while she waits for her GCSE results.
