Hemel Stags play host to high flying Hunslet Hawks in an important Kingstone Press Championship One fixture on Sunday, and spectators have a chance to see one of Hertfordshire’s brightest young sporting superstars playing for his local team.
Kieran Dixon, currently with Hemel on dual registration from Super League club London Broncos was raised in Hemel Hempstead and had scored 37 tries in 51 top flight appearances, prior to picking up a serious knee injury when playing for England Knights last October.
It was a scoring spree that had attracted the attention of some of the biggest rugby league clubs in the land.
Now fully fit, the 21-year-old whose career began with the Stags is set to make a second appearance of his comeback in Hemel colours before returning to London Broncos next week.
Sunday has also been declared Heritage Day by Hemel Stags, in which all former players, coaches and officials have been invited to join in the celebrations.
Tickets are priced at just £9 for adults if booked in advance from the club, or £12 on the day, while concessionary prices are £4.50 if booked in advance and £6 on the day.
The game gets under way at 2pm at Pennine Way
