Gravesend 14-16 Tring
A LAST minute try from Dave Shotton earned Tring a dramatic victory at Gravesend.
Shotton, who had represented Wasps A the previous week, pounced in the dying moments to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat for the elated Tring side.
Liam Chennels’ contribution to the win must not be forgotten, though, with the Tring man converting the try to give his side the points they needed to overhaul the hosts.
The victory keeps Tring flying high in the league and maintains their impressive run of form over recent weeks.
The loss will come as a crushing blow to Gravesend, who seemed set to take the points following two converted tries.
Sam Clapham had replied for Tring with a try of his own – which Chennells converted to set up the dramatic finale.
With time almost up, Shotton levelled the scores at 14-14, giving Chennells the chance to snatch the win with the conversion.
And the Tring man kept his cool to send his kick through the posts to snatch the unlikely victory for his side.
Next up for Tring is a home clash with Dorking on Saturday.
