TRING’S juniors were in action this week as the Hertfordshire Junior Club Finals took place.
The U16, U15 and U11 sides all took to the field, but were left empty-handed despite their best efforts.
First up, the U16s travelled to Bishops Stortford and saw off rivals St Albans in the semi-final of the competition.
Dan Tidey (28) and James Darraugh (20) helped the side to 102-6, while St Albans were restricted to 85-8.
Sam Shearman (3-11) returned excellent figures as Tring set up a final clash with St Margaretsbury.
It was not to be for Tring, though, as their total of 104-9 was eclipsed by St Margaretsbury in the final over of the match.
Meanwhile, the U15s were left disappointed by two losses.
In their Herts semi-final, Tring were comprehensively beaten by Kings Langley, before suffering heartbreak in the final of the Bucks Cup with a loss to Gerrards Cross.
Elsewhere, Tring’s U11s travelled to Harpenden where they slipped to an 18-run loss despite some strong batting.
Tring’s Sunday second XI, though, beat Great Gaddesden.
Richard Shearer top-scored for Tring with 65.
