Olympic coach spots Hemel girl on YouTube

One of the world's top gymnastics coaches wants to train a Hemel girl after seeing her on Youtube.

Liang Chow, who took USA star Shawn Johnson to 2008 Olympic gold, spotted Olivia Reeve on the video site and emailed her dad inviting her to go on a month-long summer camp in IOWA.

"We couldn't believe it - it's a fantastic opportunity for her" said dad Steve Reeve.

The Bennetts End star, known as the 'Petite Powerhouse' in gymnastics circles, has more than one string to her bow.

The 12 year old is a diving dynamo, and has hopes of being the first athlete to represent the UK in two completely different disciplines at the Olympics.

Last weekend she became the Eastern region 12-13 diving champion, qualifying her for the National Championships and showing that her goal could be more than just a pipe dream.

For the full story see this week's Gazette.

If you are interested in helping Olivia get to America you can email dad Steve at Steve.reeve@ntlworld.com
