Rhinos blitz their way to top of the pack at Greensand Relays

Six teams from Tring Running Club took part in the Greensand Relays and produced some excellent results.

Tring teams were first, third and fourth in the overall handicap, as well as first and second in the ladies’ team category and second in the fastest open team category.

The Tring Rhinos team of Paul Cowan, Alan Whelan, Steve Long, Kevin Harding, Nigel Bunn, and Kevin Fielding (pictured) took top spot in the overall handicap in a time of 3:54:28.

They were joined on the podium by the third-placed Tring Gazelles – Harriette Purchas, Alison Harding, Verna Burgess, Mary Ward, Michaela Colwell and Jane Porteous in a time of 4:49:49. That was also good enough for second in the ladies’ competition.

The Tring Wildebeest of Simon Barnett, Tom Raftery, Luke Delderfield, Ross Langley, Dom Evans and Stephen Burgess were fourth overall in 3:45:11, making them the second fastest open team.

Sophie Green, Celine Wilcock, Sophie Delderfield, Amy Goss, Bryony Harding and Maria Kerr ran as the Tring Antelopes and came home as the fastest ladies’ team in 4:29:04.
