Dacorum & Tring AC Road Runner Simon Bright competed in the Vertical KM at the Skyrunning World Championships in Chamonix at the weekend.

Just two days later, Bright took on the Mont Blanc Marathon – a 42-km run beginning at 1,035m in Chamonix and finishing at Planpraz at 2,050m, on the slopes of Mont Blanc itself.

Having spent most of the winter out with injuries, and being forced out of last year’s event due to altitude sickness, Bright said it was “incredible” to finally come through the finish tunnel.

In other club news, Amiee French ran the Santa Pola 10km in the Costa Blanca in Spain, finishing in 1:10:46.
