It was a very warm day for running at Tring Park on Saturday as 124 competitors took on the course – of whom 21 were first timers and 38 recorded new personal bests.

With the warmer weather, numbers have been creeping up and this was the third week in a row with more than 120 runners.

Ross Langley of Tring Running Club was first over the line in 19:00, followed by Graham Smith of St Albans Striders in 19:35. Dom Evans of Tring RC was third.

For the ladies, Lynda Hembury of Tring RC was first to finish in 23:47, while Heather Bell was second in 24:14 and Alison Harding of Tring RC was third.

Best improvers of the parkrun regulars were Richard Watkin (1:48), Sharon Maisey (1:31) and Sian Lane (1:20).

There were plenty of juniors taking part, both running and helping as volunteers. A total of 21 U18s, including 7 U11s made it round the hilly 5k route.
