A popular canal festival has been scrapped for the first time in 20 years.
Tring Canal Festival organisers Wendover Arm Trust have been forced to cancel their May Bank Holiday event after landowners Land Planning Group refused permission to use its field adjacent to the Wendover Arm.

The cancellation means the trust will miss out on the £40,000 haul it usually receives from the festival, the main source of funding for the restoration work it carries out to the Wendover Arm.

Roger Leishman, restoration director and acting chairman of the trust, said it was a "great disappointment".
