The London Gang Show was once a fixture on the entertainment calendar favoured by royal patrons and pulling in packed houses.
The annual celebration of variety entertainment staged by scouts and their supporters is no longer such a high-profile event in the capital – but the tradition is alive and well in St Albans.
It’s curtain up for the St Albans Gang Show 2014 at the Alban Arena tonight.
More than 120 guides, scouts and young leaders are well prepared to put their talents to the test with performances every night until Saturday at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee thrown in for good measure.
The show aims to be a fun, uplifting and spine-tingling evening of song, dance and comedy, and as well as being one of the biggest events on the county scouting and guiding calendar is always a hugely popular show at the St Albans venue.
Tickets priced £6 to £13 are available on 07885 661780, but not through the Arena box office.
