Master of quickfire parody Mitch Benn might seem a bit distracted when he brings his Reduced Circumstances tour to Hemel Hempstead’s Old Town Hall on Saturday, and with good reason.

Mitch, who is best known for providing the sharp songs on Radio 4’s topical The Now Show, has shed a whopping 10 stone over the last year and that achievement looms large in the new show.

But he will certainly be working up a sweat when he gets stuck in to a Comic Relief challenge to write and record a whole album of comic songs in 24 hours, starting at 9am on Red Nose Day, March 15, and delivering the master at 9am on the Sunday morning.

Tickets for Saturday’s gig are £12 (£10 concessions) from 01442 228091.
