The Big Apple comes to Kings Langley in an American comedy gem next month.

Kings Langley Players are presenting a welcome revival of Neil Simon’s peerless comedy: The Odd Couple.

Simon is the all-time king of Broadway comedy with his smart, rueful, laugh-out-loud observations of mid/late 20th century city life.

Even though most of his 30 plays were penned a generation ago they are still extremely popular with audiences who, more than ever, can recognise and relate to the urban woes he delights in exposing.

“Neil Simon is an irresistibly funny man” says Victor Amswych, directing for the KLP.

“He’s one of my all-time favourite writers. His plays are so well observed and so well written, no wonder they are still popular with modern audiences.

“There are no hidden meanings or messages in Simon’s work to place troubling demands on the intellect; nothing to leave anyone wondering at the end ‘what was that all about?’ Just the catharsis of splitting your sides with laughter!”

The Odd Couple is the tale of two fellows attempting to flat share, but from this simple premise Simon spins
comedy gold.

That combined with a strong team of actors should make for a memorable show.

“We’re fielding a first class cast” said Victor.

“They are grabbing the opportunities to crack joke after joke with absolute relish. It’ll be a show to banish the winter blues.”

Kings Langley Players’ production of The Odd Couple will be on stage at Kings Langley Community Centre from March 5-7.

The Players’ free online box office is live 24/7 at www.klp.org.uk and you can book exactly the seats you want, for the performance you want – at the click of a mouse. Or you can call KLP on 07906695959.
